GOP INSANITY AND PAUL RYAN'S DEATH PANELS
Has the GOP gone completely insane?!!
Ever since Barack Obama was elected in 2008, Republicans have literally lost whatever sanity they had left [which wasn't much] after [with the help of corporate Democrats] gutting a world's economy and contributing to millions of jobs disappearing in a matter of a few months.
This is going to be very difficult for me to articulate, because what we are witnessing in the chambers/halls of Congress and across this nation, leaves one almost speechless ... I did say almost.
Everyone with any ounce of sense knows that the folks on Wall Street [aided by conservative politicians] gutted this economy; and with utter horror and reluctance, tax payers were forced to bail out the gutter trash.
How does the GOP repay the good people, the regular folk for their act of forced kindness? ... They line up to kick and stomp the ordinary folk who were forced to rescue the gutter trash, and at the same time, the GOP rewards that trash with tax breaks, tax cuts, and the ability to do whatever the hell it wants to do. Insane!!
Look, here's the GOP in one fragment and one sentence:
Deregulate whole industries, ... gut child labor laws, ... gut the unions so workers have no say in their wages, their working conditions, their retirement and health care, ... eliminate the minimum wage, ... allow corporations to continue to outsource jobs with no penalties, ... allow corporations to pollute the water and the environment with impunity, ... start war all over Africa, the Middle East, etc (well, I guess we're doing that now).
In a nutshell, they will hasten our already downward spiral into a third world economy/ country, ... an Orwellian society, where the majority of Americans will be poor, or just above poor, .... and the rich will be richer than ever.

LIBYA- THE PROGRESSIVE BUZZ
What's buzzing around progressive circles is that Howard Dean (former Governor of Vermont, and former chairman of the DNC), who is sticking up for the president on his Libya stance, was somehow corralled by the president to support him. For whatever reason, Howard knows that a challenge to President Obama in the Democratic primaries, might just cause the Democrats to lose the White House in 2012.
New/corporate/Third Way/conservative Democrats will be tip toeing around the "why Libya? ", and "is there a military solution?" questions.
[Update 3/23 (pm): Wow, this president moves pretty damn fast rallying support...]
While Susan Rice and Samantha Power probably had good intentions (wanting to protect the Libyan people and "watch video"), this "no fly zone" that the president agreed to, reeks of, 1. *neo liberal, *2. military contractors, 3. *France - oil, 4. *privatization, and 5. the interests of a certain "state" [and especially if you look at the geography and understand what is truly happening with *North Africa, and the unrest in the Middle East .]
There also seems to be a rather disturbing trend by the Obama administration to either ignore, or shift focus away from our corrupt corporations, Afghanistan, budget cuts, the Economy, the destruction of the Middle Class, what's going on with workers, the unions and collective bargaining, and the Republicans mad dash to privatize every thing they can get their hands on. And believe me they will privatize everything [including social security] unless somebody gets in their way.
As to Republicans bickering about Libya. They absolutely, without question, want to invade Libya for purely selfish reasons; but, they also want to destroy President Obama. Are they being disingenuous? YOU BETCHA! (By the way, we're absolutely not a Sarah Palin fan ... not by any stretch of the imagination.)
Where does mainstream media (MSM), who are controlled by the 1%ers, stand when it comes to reporting on Libya? Will they walk that fine line? Why bother with them at all? Why not go straight to AJ English or Democracy Now?
As to why the president is in Brazil? The progressive buzz ... Brazil (1), (2) abstained from the vote on the "no fly zone" resolution. So ... (conclusions anyone?)
Since India also abstained from the vote on a "no fly zone" in Libya ... will the president be going to India next, or just making a few phone calls?
Anyone doing any research on just how WWII started? (3)

Why do people need to keep saying that the president is Christian and not Muslim? Since there is nothing wrong with being a Muslim (and I’m not talking about Islamic extremists, just like I’m not talking about Evangelical Extremists or other Christian extremists), why do we have to hear (over and over again) that the president is not a Muslim?

1. The place would be a cultural center. 2. There already is a mosque near "Ground Zero", so why are we getting upset about a cultural center (that would have a mosque) near "Ground Zero"?
"According to [Washington Post] quoted in August 22, 2010 Cleveland Plain Dealer (section A8), "There are at least two other mosques in the neighborhood. The Masjid al Farah, where Rauf served as prayer leader until 2009, sits 12 blocks from "Ground Zero" The Masjid Manhattan, founded in 1970, is four blocks from "Ground Zero" on Warren Street."
The Plain Dealer also went on toe say, "By some estimates, the center would create as many as 150 full-time and 500 part-time jobs."
Worth mentioning: Filosufer in the Plain Dealer comment section remarked: "Thank God it wasn't Episcopalians who attacked WTC. They wouldn't be allowed to build anywhere."

SHIRLEY SHERROD IS RIGHT. IT IS MORE ABOUT CLASS THAN RACE

You ever notice that … When a certain class of
people engage in a certain behavior it is okay, while it is not okay if another
class of people engage in the same behavior? For instance, if powerful or
affluent people engage in the behavior it’s not so bad, or even bad at all;
however, if the "not powerful" or non affluent people engage in the
same behavior it is wrong. Remember that whole BillO’Reilly speech about the pregnancy of the daughter of Sarah Palin (a
power, affluent conservative) beinga family issue (even though she was not married) while just weeks or
months earlier he defamed girls (who were not affluent or powerful, [or were
from a different political party]) for the same behavior.
The affluent and powerful have even created a different setof rules for the haves and have-nots. The pharmaceutical industry is an example of
this difference. For instance, as long as you have a prescription for an
addictive drug and/or a behavior/or mind altering drug it’s just fine and
dandy; however, if you buy addictive and/or mind altering drugs “off the
street” you must be punished (perhaps even imprisoned for a very long time).
Both kinds of drugs have the potential to do all kinds of harm; however there
is no punishment for buying with a prescription, but there is punishment for
buying “off the street”.
Look, this is all about money and power …
it’s okay for the affluent to do it, or do it to get richer or stay rich. Militarycontractors get away with murder; GoldmanSachs gets slappedwith a fine for engaging in tactics [very questionable legalfinancial schemes] that caused some people to lose their home and
savings and perhaps their life or their health as a consequence of losing their
savings.
Different set of rules for the affluent and
powerful. They are above the law. I’ll say it again, …. They are above
the law. Every now and then one of them gets sacrificed for their cause;
however, you ever notice how these people won't pay much of a price, or won’t
serve much time; or when they get out of prison they are welcomed back into the
fold and even rewarded. Hell, the Mafia
did this all the time. They’ll tell the *"sacrificial lamb” to “do
the time” and we’ll take care of your family and/or reward you when you get
out; or (Mr. sacrificial lamb) "takethe bullet" and we’ll take really good care of your family.
I don’t have to give you example after example
because you know it’s true. They even know you know it’s true … it’s the
reason why they constantly distract you. It's the reason they get you fighting
over age, and race and gender and religion and ethnicity. They know these are
hot button issues; but they exaggerate and define these issues … Hell, some
issues they even dream up (Obamacare [specifically a standard “living will”]
will kill grandma). There are numerous conservative blogs with this
"Obamacare will kill grandma and Americans" crap. These
conservatives won't tell you that the "good ole" health insurance
companies deny you treatment every day, and give your personal and medical
information to the MedicalInformation Bureau (MIB) for other health and life insurance company
members to see. We certainly know these same health insurance companies denycoverage based on pre-existing conditions. Health insurance companies
have real life and death policies. The game of the affluent and powerful is to
distract you with lies and misinformation.

To hell with the truth. The (Haves) super
rich and powerful and affluent willeven go to war to protect their way of life. They will even offer up
some of their own children, ... but we all know what "class" the vast
majority of the children (who will pay the price) will come from.
They don’t want to level the playing field
… (their mission) just distract these insignificant people with
their misery and have them point their fingers at each other …. Hook them on
frivolous and dangerous things while they go about the business of amassing and
keeping money and power no matter what the cost to the planet, or the
environment or your life. They have no shame … no shame. They will
murder, lie, rob, cheat and steal … whatever it takes to maintain their
lifestyle and their seat at the” head of the table”.
ShirleySherrod said it … this is more about "class" than
race. It’s about the Haves and Have-nots.She told the truth and we know it,
and that’s why Shirley Sherrod will be dissected by the Haves and even some of
the Have-nots for speaking the truth. We’ve already seen some of the have-nots
in the Tea Party (and among some conservatives) vilify her (and distort her
message) for telling the truth. Some have-nots would rather stay in denial
and hate their own class, than do something about pushing the have-nots up, or
leveling the playing field.
Some of the Have-nots have "sold out"
because they think they will be rewarded by the "Haves"; and indeed
some of them have been rewarded by the Haves. My dear friends, there are Judases
everywhere … those (people) who are “bought and paid for” by the super rich,
affluent and powerful. They are promised a small piece of the pie if they
protect their way of life.
