THE REPUBLICAN AND DEMOCRATIC ESTABLISHMENT MACHINE BUSTED

I'm so happy ... :)
-
Slowly we're crushing the, often [corporation] manipulated, sometimes corrupt, full of crap, SELF SERVING ... political machines. Yes folks, ... Republican or Democrat, your establishment machines are becoming extinct, and it is about time.

Jump up and down with me if you're as excited as I am. Ready, ... set ....

UPDATE: 5/22/2010

While we love the crushing defeat of the political machines, we don't welcome Rand Paul, ... here are two reasons why:

I'M FED UP WITH POLITICS

This is my last post (for at least 2 or 3 months or more). Politics has become too corrupt for my taste. Jennifer Brunner (progressive Democrat) campaigned harder than any person I know (starting back in 2009). Lee Fisher (Democrat running against her in the primary) was absent on the scene for much of the time; yet, Lee won the Democratic Senatorial ticket yesterday. I'm done.
-
At this point I see no difference between the Democratic Party or the Republican Party.
-
I don't know if it's possible ... but if Jennifer could run as an Independent .... (please).
-
-
-
Update:
Well, readers ... Jennifer is supporting her party and won't run as an Independent. Oh, well ..
-
Though I'm not going to post for awhile, I will remain vigilant. To each and everyone of you politicians ... I'm watching you, and I'm reporting to my friends and club members, etc. exactly what you're up to. So be careful, ... be truthful, caring, and honest!
-
In the meantime, ... READ Alternet and the Huffington Post DAILY!!
-
Oh yeah ... and definitely read my favorites daily:
-
-
Update: 5/9 ... regarding post on RedState Blog:
Read something unflattering and just plain mean about JB on the RS blog. I wasn't able to post my comment there (geez ... wonder why?)
So here's my comment:
"I wanted Jennifer to win the Democratic Senatorial primary. We need a whole lot more progressive women in government. Women's rights are being slowly eroded. The #1 culprit ... mostly those pesky conservative males in government."
-
Note: Ladies, you better wake up smart (and support and vote for progressive women), or you will wake up barefoot, pregnant, and at the mercy of men who only want you to look pretty, cook, clean, and service their every whim and need. Wake up!

HEALTHCARE REFORM AT A CROSSROAD

Without going back and editing my previous post “Capitalism 201 Gone Wild Fosters Inequality”, I’d like to continue to focus on core values of different economic systems, and their role in health care reform.

As I said before, our free enterprise system values money and physical things. I would like to expand that by saying that it values power, money, and the acquisition and pursuit of money; and values physical assets and the acquisition and pursuit of physical assets.

In the second system mentioned in my previous post [let’s call it the Denmarkian system – smile], value is placed on familial and community relationships, human rights, human dignity, mutual cooperation, mutual respect, and creativity.

We, the people, have to decide which fundamentals [for lack of a better word] of the above systems do we want to embrace in
health care reform.

In the last post, I stated that our free enterprise system is in opposition to the Denmarkian system. They don’t fit together.

In our present free enterprise [capitalistic] system we see health care as not a human right, but a privilege [some entitlement, with limited access and conditioned on a persons ability to pay] . In the Denmarkian system, health care is a human right [it is universal without conditions].

The progressives in the Democratic Party are more closely ideologically aligned with the Denmarkian system. Conservatives and members of the Republican Party are more closely ideologically aligned with our present free enterprise system, as are some moderate Democrats.

The American people are torn. They were raised in the [United States] Free Enterprise system, but deep down, I believe if they had a choice of core values, and understood the benefits of the Denmarkian system, they would embrace that system; though to what extent I know not.

And so we stand at a crossroad where a majority of representatives [218 in the House, 51 or 60 in the Senate] from 50 states must decide whether health care is a human right or a privilege. The choice they make [I believe] will have moral, ethical, and economic repercussions for years to come.

KEITH OLBERMANN FIRED UP - GOOD TO SEE YOU BACK!

I was about to write-off MSNBC talk show hosts (with 2 exceptions) for being weak-kneed, kowtow to corporate, don't do your homework, mealy mouthed, "talk about nothing" hacks ... and then I would walk away, never to look back. Keith Olbermann was on vacation for what seemed like forever, and all MSNBC really had to offer was Rachel Maddow.
-
Morning Joe was getting on my nerves; because they hardly ever do their homework.
-
And Joe and Mika and guests (especially Mika)? ... well, they act like stage actors. They have a script, and they just read from corporate script. Occasionally, there will be a fresh unscripted guest or two, but for the most part ... Morning Joe is not much to look forward to.
-
Anyway, after yesterday's "Morning Joe" dribble, I was through with MSNBC ... through, through, through ... that is until I tuned into Keith Olbermann last night. Oh my God, .... Keith was back ... and I mean back ... yep, ... corporate wasn't controlling Keith last night. He let loose.
-
Let's take a peak at what went on. ....
-
The paid and/ or scripted whack jobs are coming out of their home state asylums (like Texas), and the friends of lobbyists and big industry special interest groups are reaping huge rewards for trying to derail or hi-jack health care reform.

-

-
What troubles me is that the far-right of the Republican Party has never stopped their lying and scheming ways. They will do whatever, no matter how under-handed, to win. I don't think they have any other ideas; and I don't get it, because they are "cutting off their nose to spite their face" and they are getting dupes (the people who they're hurting) to help them.

Remember Robert Parry's (Feb. 25, 2009) article? The GOP's Anti-Obama Propaganda"
-
-
We brought in some back up for Keith ... though he definitely doesn't need it.

The Republican Party, the party of "no" and "no ideas (unless it involves lying and scheming)", has been operating behind closed doors for a long time, seeking to derail any legislation or policy or election that will be in the interest of the Middle Class. How do they get away with this crap?
-
My mother last year told me about receiving an absentee ballot with Barack Obama's name spelled Barack Osama. She resides in an area that was controlled by Republicans.

Remember the GOP’s Voter Suppression scheme in swing states?

And the race card? Give me a break; ... the far-right plays "the race card" better than anyone or any group I know. For heaven sakes, Glenn Beck called President Obama a racist, and it looks like he got away with it!
-
-
MORE REPUBLICAN NONSENSE:
-
The popular "cash for clunkers" is helping the auto industry, auto dealers, the environment, and the American people, and Republicans don't like it. We don't GET IT!!!

Well, actually we do get it. The GOP hates government, even though they work for government (uh?). The American tax-payer pays their salary, much of their benefits, etc., and they hate the government? Hey people, these shysters are double dipping. They get money from tax-payers, who they screw over, so they can get paid by big business (lobbyists) to do big business bidding.

Oh you, the tax-payer, might end up with a crumb or two; however, these representatives rake in millions.

-

More backup:
-
yeah Rachel ...
-
-
-

Friday night, our group wrote our Senators the following:

"The American tax-payer pays your salary, for your trips out of state and around the world (on government business of course), a large portion of your employee benefits which includes a wonderful Federal Employees Health Benefits Plan. It's marvelous.

We pay for all the active military and veterans benefits and defense employees’ wages and salaries.

We also pay the president's salary and a large portion of his benefits and trips around the world (on government business, of course).

I know there are many, many other perks as a Senator.

So let me refresh, - the tax payer is making your life very safe, very healthy and very comfortable and pleasurable, while you may have a problem (can't be sure -if I'm wrong please forgive) with providing each and every American (who pays for the above), quality, affordable, comprehensive health care much like your own or similar to what our veterans or seniors receive.

You might want to think about that just a little while on break.

Have a nice recess."

KEITH'S SPECIAL COMMENT: LEGISLATORS FOR SALE

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'll grant you that Democrats have their problems and their issues; but they are the party for the Middle Class and the small business owner.
The GOP claims they're on the side of the small business owner; but you can't be for big business and the small business owner; because big business on many occasions discourages competition.
-
How can it do that? ... Cause it’s too big, people.
-
Big business can under-cut most small businesses. These big companies do high volume sales; and when the go to market to buy supplies or items for resale, they get better discounts. They also have a lot of advertising dollars to throw around; as well as lobbying monies to give to Congressman and Senators to create, influence or derail legislation that has to do with their interests.
---
Most small business owners have a hard time competing, given those obstacles. Unless you've got a unique product or service, or dedicated audience, you're usually out-matched. And if you're really, really, really good, ... big ole corporate will try anything to bring you down; they might even buy you out (if nothing else works).
-
Yep, folks, big ole corporates friend is the GOP; because the GOP, the Republican Party, will not stand in the way of them doing whatever it takes to be king of the land. If a Republican hears the words, "regulation" ... oh my God, ... they will call in the "commie" police.
-
Remember those businesses that are still "too big to fail"? The legislation that created this economic mess was sponsored by Republicans. [Gramm-Leach-Bliley]
-
How's the Democrats faring so far? ...

GOP STRATEGIES TO DERAIL HEALTH CARE REFORM:

OUTRAGED OVER BLUG DOG ARROGANCE

We've been watching Congress and the Senate to see how things are progressing with health care reform. The more liberal members of the Democratic party are getting frustrated with the more conservative members of the party, called Blue Dogs.

Last evening, the Health bill from the Energy and Commerce Committee inched slowly through the House; eventually leading to a number of concessions made with the Blue Dogs. Read more-

What angers us, and we're not sure if you are aware of this; federal employees (that includes, we believe, members of Congress and the Senate) are under a health care program called the "Federal Employees Health Benefits Program"; and guess what, the American tax-payer pays for more than half of these employees health insurance premium.

While the congressional committees and senate committees are haggling over quality, affordable, (not even comprehensive) health care for Americans, Congress and the Senate are getting access to a comprehensive health and benefits plan that would make anyone salivate. And, once again, the American tax-payer foots more than half of their premiums.

Click HERE and see what portion the government (us) pays towards their premiums, and what the federal employee pays.

-
You will get madder than hell when you see the entire federal employees benefits program.
-
So, ... Blue Dogs and Republicans are haggling over whether to give us single-payer or a strong public health care option, while we pay much of their health insurance premiums, and even more towards all the benefits federal employees receive. And don't forget, we pay all their salaries and even veterans benefits.
-
Call your representatives and tell them you want single-payer (like what the seniors get - Medicare; or what the veteran's get - VA), or what members of Congress receive.

Health Care Realities

By PAUL KRUGMAN
Published: July 30, 2009

At a recent town hall meeting, a man stood up and told Representative Bob Inglis to “keep your government hands off my Medicare.” The congressman, a Republican from South Carolina, tried to explain that Medicare is already a government program — but the voter, Mr. Inglis said, “wasn’t having any of it.”

It’s a funny story — but it illustrates the extent to which health reform must climb a wall of misinformation. It’s not just that many Americans don’t understand what President Obama is proposing; many people don’t understand the way American health care works right now. They don’t understand, in particular, that getting the government involved in health care wouldn’t be a radical step: the government is already deeply involved, even in private insurance.

And that government involvement is the only reason our system works at all.

PROGRESSIVES TARGET BEN NELSON (D-NEB)
-
“As Congress approaches the August recess with health care legislation still in flux, progressive groups are making an early push to target wavering Senate Democrats.

On Friday morning, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, in alliance with Democracy for America., unveiled a new television ad attacking Sen. Ben Nelson, (D-Neb.) for slowing down the reform process. Narrated by a local Nebraska businessman, the spot relies on the same type of highly personalized testimony of health care struggle that has become a dominant theme for reform proponents”

WHAT DOES ARLEN SPECTER'S DEFECTION FROM THE REPUBLICAN PARTY MEAN FOR THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY?

I'm not sure what to think of Arlen Specter's defection from the Republican Party to the Democratic Party. I do know that as a Democrat, that respects labor unions and upward mobility for the poor and Middle Class, Arlen Specter's positions are sometimes troubling.

I was talking to my 82 year old Republican friend (who voted for President Obama) about the future of the Republican Party. She is not happy with the Party. An Independent, my friend only switched to the Republican Party some years ago because she was upset with the Democrats, was nostalgic about the Party of Lincoln and she is pro-life.

That said, she still voted mostly Democratic in the last election. She was particularly outraged at the negative mail and corrupt voting practices conducted by the Republican Party in her city and county (Rensselaer County - upstate New York). By the way, she is thrilled that Scott Murphy won the congressional seat (20th district).

Anyway, back to Specter and what could cause a schism in the Democratic Party. With more and more moderate Republicans coming over to the Democratic side, I fear that some of the progressive positions that Democrats take, will be suddenly cast by the wayside. This will cause a major schism within the Party. The major Parties may start evolving into something akin to Great Britain's Parties.

I predict that eventually the schism will bring about another Party to be aptly named, "The Democratic Progressive Party" or simply "The Progressive Party".

The make-up of "The Democratic Progressive Party" will be unions, young, west-coast, parts of the east-coast, pro-choice, anti-war, those who want equality and justice for all, those who want economic and political reform; want gun control (esp. a ban on assault weapons), restoration of civil liberties, education and health care reformers, environmentalists, those who believe in a "GREEN" economy, and those remaining on the far left.

The traditional Democratic Party will morph into those who are Independents, those who lean more center-right and some center-left. The traditional Democratic Party will lose labor to the Democratic Progressives 1. Because labor (the unions) have been consistently ignored by traditional Democrats 2. If EFCA is defeated under the Obama administration they will become disillusioned with the traditional Democrats 3. Unions will be an essential part in moving towards a "Green" economy.

What that means in terms of winning elections? I have no idea.

PRIME MINISTER GORDON BROWN DELIVERS MOVING AND ELOQUENT ADDRESS BEFORE JOINT SESSION OF CONGRESS, RECEIVES LITTLE COMMENT BY CNN, RT WING, ETC. MEDIA

Prime Minister (Labor Party) Gordon Brown of Great Britain/N.Ireland spoke movingly and eloquently before the Joint Session of Congress yesterday, amid an uproarious applause; might say he received more adulation than President Obama (too close to tell).

With this amount of praise and adulation, you would think you would have heard more about, and more focus on, the Prime Minister’s address coming from our mainstream media and our cable channels. Except for C-SPAN where I saw the Prime Minister speak, there was scarce coverage. Well, those aforementioned channels did mention that the Queen bestowed knighthood on Senator Ted Kennedy. Other than that, not much else. Wonder why … don’t you?

Well here’s what I think. The kind of address the Prime Minister made (coming from a Labor Party member), would be difficult for a conservative. Bits of the speech … maybe.

This is the kind of speech a Labor Party makes, the kind of speech a Democratic Party would make.

The Prime Minister talked about the people, the world, the poor, the powerless, children who are tortured, those who suffer, the environment, a green economy, and leveling the playing field so all can participate.

Our first responsibility is to help the powerless.” … “Wherever there is hardship, wherever there is suffering, we cannot, we will not, pass by on the other side.”

“For let us remember there is a common bond that unites us as human beings across different beliefs, cultures and nationalities. It is at the core of my convictions.”

Perhaps "this focus" is why we didn’t hear much about the Prime Minister’s speech from our mainstream media and CNN and right-wing media.

Here’s an outline of what Prime Minister Brown said:

1. The Prime Minister praised the United States.

2. A Knighthood for Senator Edward Kennedy from the Queen … and thoughts on the American Spirit.

PM
“Throughout your history Americans have led insurrections in the human imagination, have summoned revolutionary times through your belief that there is no such thing as an impossible endeavor”

“What mattered more was this enduring truth – that you, the American people, at your core, were, as you remain, every bit as optimistic as your Roosevelts, your Reagans and your Obamas”

“You have shown that while a terrorist may destroy buildings and even, tragically, lives, they have not, and will not ever, destroy the American spirit”

3. Transatlantic Relationship: “Brown used the phrase “special relationship” twice – preferring instead formulations using words such as “friendship” or “partnership”. He also explicitly drew in the rest of Europe into the transatlantic relations Britain often likes to see as between it and the US.”

PM
“You now have the most pro-American European leadership in living memory … There is no old Europe, no new Europe, there is only your friend Europe.”

4. Values: The Prime Minister extended his sections on America and transatlantic relations to talk about the ‘common bond that unites us as human beings’. He turned to values he said her learned as a child and some ‘ancient truths’.

PM
“We do not value the wealthy less when we say that our first duty is to help the not so wealthy. We do not value the powerful less when we say that our first responsibility is to help the powerless.”

“In this most modern of crises I am drawn to the most ancient of truths; wherever there is hardship, wherever there is suffering, we cannot, we will not, pass by on the other side.”

“For let us remember there is a common bond that unites us as human beings across different beliefs, cultures and nationalities. It is at the core of my convictions.”

5. Foreign Policy: Brown turned to joint areas of joint foreign policy – the Middle East peace process, the two wars and towards Iran. He also, as he talked about Africa, recounted the story of a Rwandan boy tortured to death whose final words were of hope in the United Nations.

PM
“Let me pay tribute to the soldiers, yours and ours, who again fright side by side in the plains of Afghanistan and the streets of Iraq.”

“And our shared message to Iran is simple – we are ready for you to rejoin the world community. But first, you must cease your threats and suspend your nuclear program”.

“The greatest gift our generation could give to the future … could be, for every child in every country of the world, the chance millions do not have today; the chance to go to school.”

6. Economy: Brown referred often to the lessons to be learned from the crisis, but – unlike his appearances in the commons – did not seek to blame Britain’s problems on the US banking sector. He also looked towards global action against tax havens.

PM
“We need to understand what went wrong in this crisis, that the very financial instruments that were designed to diversify risk across the banking system instead spread contagion across the globe.”

“America and Britain will succeed and lead if we tap into the talents of our people, unleash the genius of our scientists and set free the drive of our entrepreneurs.”

“How much safer would everybody’s savings be if the whole world finally came together to outlaw shadow banking systems and offshore tax havens?”

7. Green Issues: While the environment did not form the largest section of the Prime Minister’s speech, he did give it emphasis – often pairing the environment with the economy as the two most pressing issues facing the world. He also looked forward to this year’s climate change summit in Copenhagen.

PM
“I come now to talk of new and different battles we must fight together; to speak of a global economy in crisis and a planet imperiled.”

“It is only by investing in environmental technology that we can end the dictatorship of oil, and it is only by tackling climate change that we create the millions of new green jobs we need.”

“I am confident that this president, this congress and the peoples of the world can come together in Copenhagen this December to reach a historic agreement on climate change.”

REALITY CHECK MR. PRESIDENT!

Mr. President,
-
Your approval rating is down, not because you're doing a lousy job; but because you're dancing around and palling around with Republicans.
-
If we wanted a bunch of Republicans, we would have voted Republican. Don't you get it? They are the distractions Americans don't want.
-
[I don't mean to disparage all Republicans, just their policies and many of their ideological arguments. -smile]
-
I know you're working hard. You probably don't need any more criticism, but if your friends can't give you a reality check, then you're out here all by yourself.
-
It's time for serious "hardball"; roll those sleeves up some more and get your base together and rally those Governors who support you and lean on whoever you have to ... to get the job done.
-
Call out the troops, Mr. President! We're here!
-
-
More suggestions to the President:
-
1. Call Christiane Amanpour and have a chat about what's going on around the Globe (Did you miss Christiane's and Fareed's special this past weekend?)
-
2. Watch the Rachel Maddow Show every night. Ms. Oxford PH.D delivers for us every night.
-
3. Call in a Computer expert who happens to be a Democrat, and check for back door viruses on your computer systems.
-
4. Sweep the White House and all your Departments for bugs and sophisticated surveillance apparatus. Do it on a regular basis. Since you haven't reversed "warrantless" wiretapping, you do know AT&T, etc. are listening in on you, your Department heads, and your friends.
-
5. Huddle with Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont and come up with an effective way to deal with these banks and banking executives.
-
6. Get a little paranoid ... not "Nixon paranoid" ... just a little. Let Rahm do his job to help watch your back. It's beginning to look like you have some real enemies on Capitol Hill, etc. May I ask what Karl Rove is doing in his spare time?
-
7. There seems to be a huge communication problem between you and the mainstream media. I'm not sure if media is looking to Republicans for answers or that Republicans are seeking out media; doesn't really matter ... media is putting the Republican message out in front to the detriment of the American people. You've got to get as many back links on the Internet with your message. Your tech guys know what to do to keep your message front and center ... to drown out that irritating Republican mosquito-like noise.
-
-
-
*Fellow supporters of the President, stop watching the television [except for the Rachel Maddow Show], quit reading the Wall Street Journal, and right wing conservative media (unless you just want to find out what they're up to)
-
-
Click below for a list of Progressive media (yeah, the good stuff):

Guys, I'm exhausted ... I think I'm going to take a vacation for about 4 days and get some much needed rest. Catch you later!

THE LABOR MOVEMENT IS ALIVE AND WELL AND GROWING -WATCH OUT MR. STEELE!

The Labor Movement is alive and well and growing all over the world; and they (the people, the worker) have been left out of any dialogue or discussion in the restructuring of the economies of their countries. This does not bode well.
-
Again, the Labor Movement is spreading.
-
Do you think the Republican Party knows? They might not have known before the election; but I bet they do now.
They were absolutely stunned with the election of a Democrat named Barack Obama.

I think it even scared Bill Clinton, champion of corporate globalization (although maybe he’s not so much for it now – don’t know).

The election of Barack Obama definitely horrified the Republican Party, the Party of the “exploitation of the worker” for the benefit of corporate management and the 2% of the population that control a majority of the wealth.

Man, I don’t believe it, but I’m starting to sound like a card carrying member of a labor union.
Look, the corporations have screwed the worker; they’ve been doing it for a long time. It’s gotten so bad that the workers, the little people around the world, are forming labor unions.

I was doing a little research about the differences between Democrats and Republicans (see previous post) when I came upon article after article talking about the growth in labor unions around the world. The Internet has definitely helped their movement. They’re growing across the globe and they’re really fed up with corporate globalization (of which the Republican Party are defenders).

I was shocked to discover that labor unions were growing rapidly in Iraq, Germany, France, China, Egypt, throughout South America, etc.

The corporations have intertwined themselves in the economies of so many countries, that when one of these companies fall, they can cause great damage to the economies of that country and affect the lives of millions of people (most of them lower and middle income people) – the “working class”.

Corporations have controlled or tried to influence foreign policy for a long time; problem is they need someone to help push their agenda. The perfect Party in the United States… the Republican Party, in Britain the Torys, etc. etc. ATT last year was the Republican Party’s biggest contributor. Yes, ATT the ones who are listening to your conversations over the phone, and monitoring your
email, etc
..
http://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/index.php
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NSA_warrantless_surveillance_controversy

There is a growing resentment towards big business and global corporations whose agenda is to make a lot of money for management and their major stockholders (those who own the majority block of shares) who control the majority of the wealth, but only represent 2% of the population. It’s corporate management’s job to pay you as little wage as they can get away with.

That’s why they seek to plop themselves in countries where the people have literally no real power.
They consistently vote for Republican Party candidates; Republican Party -defenders of their way of life.

So the backlash and unrest you see all over the world is that growing resentment towards these companies and their agenda.

The American worker (the low and middle income blue collar and white collar worker) wasn’t totally aware of it when they voted for “CHANGE”; but, they were really voting for the labor movement.

Look, when you lose your job or see your paycheck shrink who do you blame? When you lose your home, your pensions, your health care (or have no health care) who do you blame? When you can’t afford to send your child to college or trade school to be educated to get/compete for a job or be a self-employed professional whatever (so they can earn a good wage or salary), who do you blame?

The election of Michael Steele (RNC chairman) is no accident? The more moderate members of the Party who wanted to re-energize the party and take back the power from Democrats thought an African American could weaken Barack Obama’s power (the power of the “working class”); however, the person chosen must be a champion of corporate globalization. Well, Michael Steele is definitely a champion of big business and corporate globalization. Read his biography on Wikipedia.

Yes, the Republican Party is scared that their Party is weakened and that means big business is weakened, that the people who control the corporations and the majority stockholders are weakened; but guys, they no longer control the government. The “Working Class” (blue and white collar labor) and a few upper class moderate Republicans made the decision to embrace the people’s movement (the labor movement).

The Huffington Post captured a conversation by some bailout recipients talking about how they were going to defeat labor bill.

-
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/

President Obama’s pick of Treasury Secretary is a little scary. His friends are those guys who have 40% to 50% of the wealth, but only represent 2% of the population. Heck, Geithner's replacement came from Goldman Sachs

Now their argument for having that 40% to 50% is that they work harder or have sacrificed or gotten advanced degrees. I’m not going to take that away from them although I’m going to challenge them on the “work harder”; and, shouldn’t you be pursuing a career not because of the money, but because it is your passion?

Well, we can debate that later. What is important is that the “Working Class/Middle Classdrives this country. When you erode it, you cause governments to topple and economies to go to hellso who is really worth more, and who is more important, and who should possess more of the wealth?

Here I go sounding like a “Socialist”; however, Abraham Lincoln (who the President admires) at his Gettysburg address said these radical words: “Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

Gettysburg address/Abraham Lincoln

Why wouldn’t the Republican Party (again, defenders of big business –corporate globalization) want to make government smaller? It’s in their best interest.

I think the reason I didn’t want Geithner having an input into how the TARP money should be used is that his buddies are those very people who seek to exploit labor. Can you really trust him with our “TARP” money? Hell no.
"Working Class" people (and all people), those people who have lost their jobs especially, stop killing your neighbors, friends, family and stealing from them. Instead, organize a non-violent labor movement.

My suggestion to us/the government: (you’ve got to do this quickly or Geithner is going to draft a plan fast to make sure his buddies keep their 40% to 50%+ of the wealth).

1. Demand that that TARP money is given to the workers who would then buy the company or have a controlling interest in it.

2. After the workers get control of the money, the workers would form their own business structure; and they hire managers from within their own ranks, or if they hired outside their company, all workers would have a choice in the pick and determine his/her salary.

3. Whatever decisions that are made, should be to benefit the worker.

I really need help here people. Post your comments and call your representatives and the President.
By the way, the "Working Class" loves business, just not the businesses I described.

RNC ELECT AFRICAN AMERICAN, MICHAEL STEELE, WHILE STILL REACHING OUT TO RACISTS AND MALCONTENTS

The other day, I sent an email to Boehner or some Republican House member and asked "Why is it that racists and malcontents are attracted to your Party?"
Well, it must have scared the hell out of them ... cause, guess what?
-
The Republican Party elected African American Michael Steele [moderate Republican, proponent of "drill baby drill" and high deductibles for health insurance] as RNC chair; however, by virtue of their love for Rush Limbaugh, we believe, at this time, they are using Mr. Steele as a smoke screen for their Republican agenda.
-
Now I'm not going to take all the credit, because what really scared them was the election of an African American male by the name of Barack Husein Obama; who is part Caucasian, part African Muslim, Christian, great family man, has lived in Hawaii and South East Asia, etc. This could have only happened in the Democratic Party.
-
WOW! That must have really shook the "core" of the Republican Party.
-
Didn't shake Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity or Bill O'Reilly.
-
This week several Republicans rebuked Rush Limbaugh for remarks made to President Obama, saying he "wished Obama would fail"; however, one of those Republicans apologized to Rush and admitted he agreed with Rush.
-
We are in the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, with thousands of people losing their homes and millions out of work, and Rush, who some consider a leader in the Republican Party; wishes that President Obama would fail. Never would have heard that from a Democrat [kiss of death]; however, the Republican Party like some of their elitist "Wall Street" corporate buddies are an arrogant bunch.
-
Ok, readers, here's more news ....I'm so excited, cause it makes my point [didn't know it was going to be that easy] ...
-
According to Wikipedia:
-
"Steele then entered the Georgetown University Law Center and in 1991, he received his Juris Doctor degree. He worked as a corporate securities associate at the Washington, D.C. office of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton. From 1991 to 1997, Steele specialized in financial investments for Wall Street underwriters, working at Cleary’s Tokyo, Japan office focusing on major product liability litigation and at its London office on corporate matters. Steele left the law firm and founded the Steele Group, a business and legal consulting firm..."
-
Does that not make my point about Republican buddies, or what? A defender of big business and "Wall Street". [Umm]
-
Now back to Rush Limbaugh and his loyal followers.
-
May 6, 2008, Rush called Latino Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa "A Shoeshine Guy"
-
Rush attracts racists and malcontents and they seem to flock to the Republican Party.
-
According to Professor Ekwueme Michael Thelwell ... after the Voting Rights Act of 1965, [that outlawed discriminatory voting practices that had been responsible for the widespread disenfranchisement of African Americans in the United States], the racist Southern Dixiecrats flocked to the Republican Party.
-
"To our distress, what happened was the Dixiecrats, the racists, the segregationists simply migrated wholesale into the Republican Party and since that time, there have only been two Democratic presidents, and both of them from the South. You know, so that the law of unintended consequences, we won a victory by which the whole country suffered, as a consequence of the taking over of the Republican Party by these really renegade, undemocratic, reactionary, backward elements from the Southern Dixiecrats. And they have run the Republican Party ever since."
Amy Goodwin Interview, Aug 2005

-
Republicans tend to attract in smaller numbers ... upper class African Americans and Asians; and some Hispanic Catholics who may have abandoned the Party in this past election. But a large majority of Republicans come from the South [that includes Evangelicals] and Mountain West; and, they embrace elitist members of the financial community, the management of large corporations, [esp. those who are anti-union] and certain segments of the small business community.
-
Republicans have a vested interest in keeping corporate taxes low because those are their very largest contributors. In the last 48 - 72 hours of the Presidential election, there were huge donations made from the above named groups.
-
-
I've never known a racist (you know, the ones who violently hate minority groups and Jewish people) to join the Democratic Party [probably because Democrats have a large number of African Americans, Jewish people, and members of the Hispanic Community].
-

Democrats reflect every ethnic group and economic class; however, it has been the only party to consistently reach out to.. and look out for... "Women, and also the Low Income and Middle Income" working class; who without them, this country would be devastated. The erosion of the Middle Class (pushing them lower and lower into the lower rungs of the economic ladder) has largely contributed to the state we are in now.
-
Republicans are strongly anti-union and, if you recall, just the other day, every male Republican except Arlen Spector of Pennsylvania, voted no on the "Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act".
-
Republicans have fiscal policies that benefit their largest contributors - which in 2008 was ATT, (the corporation that allowed Bush/Cheney intelligence to spy on civilians)**
-
Unless the Obama administration disallows this, I will have to change telephone and Internet providers.
-
-
One more thing, I'm really tired of Republican women referring to Sarah Palin as being the first woman nominee for Vice President. Excuse me, Geraldine Ferraro (a Democrat) was the first VP nominee.

The Controversy surrounding Republican Chip Saltsman:
-
For Christmas 2008, Saltsman sent a music CD of songs intended to be political satire to members of the Republican National Committee. The CD of 41 songs included one entitled "David Ehrenstein's 'Barack the Magic Negro' " set to the tune of "Puff, the Magic Dragon". Its title was drawn from a Los Angeles Times column, written by Ehrenstein, who is partly of African-American descent,[13] that suggested President-elect Barack Obama appealed to those who feel guilty about the nation's history of mistreatment of African-Americans.[14] Saltsman said the song, penned by his longtime friend Paul Shanklin, a white conservative parodist songwriter, who performs it using his impersonation of Al Sharpton, "should be easily recognized as satire directed at the Times."[15]
-
Deborah Mathis fired back on BlackAmericaWeb.com .. December 29, 2008...
"What a pathetic bumpkin Chip Saltsman turns out to be.Saltsman is bound to have learned some things from managing Mike Huckabee’s once-quixotic presidential campaign, which actually had some momentum for awhile. But basic human politics escape him ...
Frankly, that’s the way I like it. I prefer bigots who are too country, too primitive, too proud, and too shallow to cloak their feelings – or even know how to – as opposed to those sophisticates who serve their racism cold and on a bed of pretense. What makes Saltsman’s transparency not only preferable, but vital is that he had hoped to be chairman of the Republican National Committee, which now understands clearly that black and brown support is no longer a luxury, but a necessity.
-
The last thing it needs is to be identified with racial divisiveness and insensitivity. As Mike Duncan, the current RNC chairman, noted, “The 2008 election was a wake-up call for Republicans to reach out and bring more people into our party.”
-
Duncan expressed outrage “that anyone would think this is appropriate as it clearly does not move us in the right direction.”In short, Saltsman’s chairmanship ambitions are toast. For sure, the Tennessee Republican isn’t the only one who got a kick out of “Barack, the Magic Negro.”
-
It was, after all, Rush Limbaugh who introduced the country to it via his radio show. But the blustery, perennially offensive Limbaugh was not in line to set the agenda for a major political party. Now, neither is Saltsman.
-
Interestingly, another would-be RNC chairman is sounding more forgiving of Saltsman than is the current GOP leadership. Ken Blackwell, the former Ohio secretary of state and apologist for the state’s squirrely voting system, blames the media for “hypersensitivity” on race and would not condemn Saltsman’s action.Blackwell, you may recall, is a black man. Apparently, rather than take the party forward, he is more concerned with not offending the bigots in his party by pointing out their bigotry, so as to assure them that he is not the angry black man of legend than he is on taking the party forward. We’ve seen that type before too. The accommodationist, tap dancing his way into favor. The type who would probably be flattered had the magic Negro of note been “Ken,” not “Barack.”

The Republican Party (a party that racists and malcontents are attracted to) says that they haven't changed their fundamental core values.
Why have they really elected Michael Steele? Smoke screen?
1. Can a leopard change its spots?
2. If it acts like a duck, talks like a duck, then it's probably still a duck.
