LIBYA - THIS IS THE LAST STRAW MR. PRESIDENT

I don't know if I've been patient or not,... but hell, ... *LIBYA?, this is the last straw. Every Republican, conservative/Third Way/NEW/corporate Democrat needs to go. I SAID GO! That includes our current president.

These people cannot be re-elected. If anything, they should be impeached; and some prosecuted for all kinds of crimes, corruption, treason/fraud against the majority of the American people, international crimes, etc., etc., etc. George Bush and Dick Cheney you come to the front of the line.

First, ... everyone needs to watch "Inside Job", and go to the movie website (please do enter the website and read about all the corporations that have been engaged in criminal behavior, and learn what you can do to stop it). If watching that film, and learning about all the corruption/fraud and greed doesn't get you hopping mad, I don't know what will.

Union friends, you don't have a clue what you are up against. Watch the Max Keiser Report below.

This is a wake up call. I'm so sick of this bullshit.

HOW DEEP AND HOW WIDE IS THE COVERUP AND CORRUPTION?

Citizens around the world must band together and demand transparency from their governments, as well as hold them accountable for crimes committed in all our names.

If what we hear about a grand jury being assembled to indict Julian Assange for conspiracy or "act of espionage" is true, then citizens of the world must unite and demand that George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and anyone who has broken International Law (and specifically the Geneva Conventions) or lied/deceived their citizens in order to engage in and/or profit from war, should be brought before an International Criminal Tribunal and/or International Citizen's Tribunal. Furthermore, any DOJ (Dept. of Justice) or political official who fails to prosecute those guilty of breaking International Law (or specifically the Geneva Conventions) or fails to prosecute those who have lied/deceived its citizens in order to engage (or continue to engage) in, and/or profit from war, should also be brought before an International Criminal Tribunal and/or International Citizen's Tribunal.

This looking to prosecute/assassinate and lay blame on scapegoats for exposing heinous lies (by our governments) and crimes committed by our governments must stop now, and the real criminals (those who have tortured, committed gross atrocities against innocent civilians, and have caused the reckless killing of innocent civilians) brought before a court of law.

OUTRAGED BY OUR FOREIGN POLICY

I'm sorry that I'm a day late in publishing this post. I received a DVD of a film called "Hijacking Catastrophe" a couple of days ago; and I watched that film last night.
-
Watching that 2004 documentary was difficult and made me sick to my stomach.
-
The fact that we are continuing the BUSH DOCTRINE and the NEOCON agenda (accelerated by George W. Bush), and also continuing Wolfowitz 's PNAC philosophy, is unreal, and I think, a recipe for disaster (according to Chalmers Johnson). READ SYNOPSIS of the film AT FILM.COM

-

If you look up the word NEOCON, use the Britannica and U.S. History Encyclopedia ... it appears that Wikipedia has been corrupted by those who wish to place blame largely on Liberals (both Political Parties are to blame for our foreign policy).

[By the way, ... we're getting tired of certain people always wanting to keep tabs on who we are and what is said on this blog. SEE "ABOUT US" PAGE

We don't mind people who are seriously interested in what we have to say (even though it is often critical of politicians, political parties, and/or foreign policy and other policies), ... we just have a problem with people who want to block what we have to say. Unfortunately, George Orwell's society is becoming more and more a reality for the majority of us.

We do edit this blog continuously. If we think we have new information, we will add it; or if there is wrong information, we will correct it; however, we always post links that help corroborate what we have to say.]

HAS HOWDY DOODY LEFT THE BUILDING?

When Bush became President, I called my mother and told her that I thought the American people had elected “Howdy Doody” … yep, that’s right, you heard what I said … I said that the American people had elected a puppet.

Well, we now know that to be somewhat true. He was groomed for his role.*

Dick Cheney and George W. Bush however, we're co-presidents.**

**[Update 2010: Note: Shirley Anne Warshaw (Professor Political Science, Gettysburg College) did extensive research ... She called Bush and Cheney Co-Presidents.
-
C-SPAN had Professor Warshaw on their program as a political science guest panelist discussing her research and at that time soon to be released book (originally aired November 22, 2008, and again 2009) ... I forgot to update this post]. Click HERE for the C-SPAN video.
-
-

Fast forward, the American people fed up with the Bush/Cheney regime … were wooed by CHANGE and thought with the election of Barack Obama they got change.

Did we just get a "Howdy Doody"; is this the Obama/Emanuel administration with Rahm [or Geithner] being the person running the financial/business arm of the administration (just like Cheney)? How about who is running the social arm of the administration … who could that be? What about Commander in Chief ... we know it's the President, but who is whispering in the President's ear (the CIA perhaps)?

The American people hate Wall Street … that is not a small number of Americans, it’s most Americans. They are tired of living off refi’s and credit cards in order to live. So, instead of letting that old guard die, we reengage the status quo, give lip service to reform, and that’s it; and get this … the American people [who hate Wall Street] helped them; well, … not really, … we had no choice.
-
-
It will be interesting to see if GM CEO pick, Edward Whitacre Jr. [former "old-school" AT&T executive, innovator and engineer] will turn GM into just a hybrid car producer, or will he diversify into something more innovative and a game-changer ... hi-speed rail, wind turbines and solar products. Most important, will the worker be the majority or near majority owner (the union workers), or will the rich and powerful get away with screwing the American Middle Class worker one more time).
-
The vast majority of young people, our future leaders, voted for CHANGE. These young people grew up not caring if you’re African American, Asian, Caucasian or whatever (well, there still is tension between "street Hispanics" and "street Blacks"). These young people could care less if you’re Gay or straight or Gays getting married (and for that matter, most Americans could care less if you’re Gay or straight; and I believe, most Americans don't care if Gays marry or serve openly in the military). So what does the social arm of the administration do? They defend the marriage act … yep, they defend "DOMA" and don't undo "DON'T ASK, DON'T TELL".

OBAMA’S DOMA DEFENSE UNACCEPTABLE by Paul Hogarth

Everyone in the world knows that the Bush/Cheney administration detained people indefinitely, in secret and tortured. The pictures, letters, etc have been around since 2003. We became a pariah and we helped the extremists recruit. So, what does the Obama/Rahm/Holder administration do … yep, they do a cover-up of the crooks … the very crooks that the world spit upon, that the world, and now most of the American people, abhor and want brought to justice.

TAXI TO THE DARK SIDE
-
Maybe I'm misreading everything. Could there be something different brewing beneath what appears apparent? Maybe President Obama is making it look like he's business as usual with a liberal twist every now and then, or again I ask ... is there just the appearance of business as usual, and is his true CHANGE agenda coming soon? Maybe he just wants to get through HEALTH CARE REFORM first. Should we give him the benefit of the doubt?
-
Is this the time to show who is boss? Is it Rahm, Holder or whoever, or is it President Obama? Just who is running the show ... or should we wait a while longer for "the benefit of the doubt"?

THE RULE OF LAW AND MAKING VS POSING A THREAT

Yesterday I listened to the President’s address and some of Cheney’s address. The President was eloquent and addressed many of the concerns that Americans have regarding the detainees in GITMO.

Dick Cheney reiterated the lies he’s been trying to sell to the American people. He’s good at it … he’s done it for years.

Now comes the hard part … what President Obama didn’t do.
He said he would not put a stop to indefinitely holding people suspected (and I did say suspected) of crimes or being members of organizations that vow to kill Americans. The reason why they could not be brought to trial … the evidence was tainted or there simply was no evidence to prosecute them; but, we swear (cause intelligence – who never makes a mistake) say these people are a real threat to Americans.

I got to thinking. A husband hates his wife and her family; he tells his wife he is going to kill her, her mother, her father, her neighbors, her children … and everybody knows how he feels.
He even has a record of violence.

The wife and family go to the police and tell them what was said by the husband. Do we lock this guy up? And if we could, for how long?

A known pedophile gets out of jail. He says he still has urges; we tell him he can’t hang around children, but can we lock him up indefinitely?

The KKK hates Jews, Blacks, (probably Hispanics now) and wishes they were removed from the face of this earth. They have a history of torture and killing. They spew their venom as often as they can and they write books about why these racial groups must be removed from the face of the earth or at least the United States of America. Do we lock all these KKK members up?

How about the National Guard being sent in to take these KKK guys out? Do we do that?

A group of guys in another country hate Americans, wish they were dead and removed from the face of the earth and everybody knows it. Some have even killed Americans right here on our soil. Do we leave the United States and go to another country where we think this group is and lock up a bunch of people that may be part of this group? How about we torture and/or kill a few that we think is part of the group, and, by the way, a thousand or so innocent people who happen to be in the same vicinity get killed. Well, so what … that’s the cost of getting these guys who hate Americans and vow to kill Americans.
None of this is funny or to be taken lightly. These are serious discussions. They involve rights and liberties and rules of law. Is the "threat of violence" enough to detain you, and if so for how long?

PRESIDENT OBAMAS DECISION NOT TO PROSECUTE THOSE WHO TORTURED

The President’s release of memos detailing torture or what was deemed, at the time, “so-called” acceptable forms of torture, mean nothing because most of the techniques were exposed years ago. So any talk that remains, is, should those who violated U.S. statutory law be prosecuted? The President has made his decision and he is wrong.
-
We must not forget that the President is a politician and an intelligence outsider. He has made his decision so as not to alienate the intelligence community and I fear, to appease those right-wingers who hold fast to some false notion that torture is lawful under certain (or any) circumstances. He also clearly doesn’t want Cheney or Mr. Bush (especially Bush) to answer for their deeds. I’m going to ask you to read the following and make an informed decision regarding prosecution of those who authorized torture and those who performed it.

Love what "Bono Vox" said in his comments 4/22/2009, at the above link: [READ]
"A state-sanctioned torture policy is about as un-American as you can get. Washington wouldn't torture, even though the Brits were torturing thousands (including boys) on ships docked off Brooklyn. Lincoln wouldn't torture, even though his life was endangered. FRD didn't institutionalize torture, and Ike didn't have torture as his policy in the field, even though the free world was at risk. So Chuck Todd not only has the will of the people wrong, he doesn't understand the historic magnitude of what the Bushies did under our flag. Todd's ignorance is despicable.
-
After the horrors of WW II, Americans took a hard look at what made us different than the Nazis and the Russians. One of the big AUTHENTIC differences (not just lofty ideology) is that we don't torture. Thousands of German soldiers at the end of the war scrambled to surrender to us and not the Russians because the Russians would torture and kill, while we wouldn't. Torture isn't a minor issue. Frankly, I think it's a lot more important than the economy, as this defines who we are as a nation wheres the economy is cyclical in nature. Do we really want to be on the Hitler-Stalin-Pol Pot side of the torture issue?"
