SENATOR GRASSLEY, YOU ARE ALSO A HYPOCRITE

I am upset by your public remarks. You represent a small but significant part of our government, and your remarks concerning Iran are irresponsible and dangerous; and your actions and remarks, if taken seriously, could gravely impact how we negotiate with Iran in the future (if that is possible).

The past actions of our government helped fuel anti-United States sentiment, and the Iranian government and some (if not many) of its people still resent the United States for its interference in their affairs. You sir, can't even confirm what politics are presently being played out in Iran; and you run the risk of jeopardizing the lives of innocent Iranians even further with your remarks.

We are forever getting involved in another country's business; and we have committed sins within our own country and abroad. During our American Civil War (War between the States), how would you have liked it if another country intervened in our civil war or tried to influence its outcome?

We trust our President and know that he is trying to be responsible in our dealings with Iran; and, in addition, he cares deeply about human rights for all people. He knows our history with Iran and wants not to meddle in their internal affairs.

The President and his administration are trying to change course in foreign relations and are seeking diplomacy with all countries; however, Republicans like you and John McCain want to drag us back to our past sins.

Under a Republican administration and a majority Republican led Congress, we tortured, got hundreds of thousands of innocent men, women and children killed in Iraq (an unjust war), and we got our own troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan; and now we are responsible for more innocent people losing their life in Iraq and Afghanistan. Our reasons for being in Iraq and Afghanistan are (I believe) specious.

Your Party keeps talking about "we kept America safe" while we tortured and indefinitely detained people in secret (some who were innocent, but all deserving to be treated humanely). We also killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people. Is this your idea of keeping America safe?

The Civil Rights Movement was a peaceful movement, yet African Americans were jailed, beaten, killed and tortured at the hands of southern governments. At Kent State (Ohio), students were killed at the hands of local government (the Ohio National Guard). How dare you try to get high and mighty.

Your own party lies to the American people who voted for President Obama and his agenda (which included health care for all). The majority of Americans want a public option and your Party goes against the American people, standing 100% with “for profit” health insurance companies and special interests. Health care should never be about profits; health care is a moral –human rights- issue. How dare you lie and say you support human rights!

At the drop of a hat, we spend trillions of dollars on foreign wars (where no one has declared war on us); but we continue to deny Americans government sponsored universal health care. How dare you insult my intelligence!

The return on war is death and the return on affordable quality health care for all is life.

We have over 900 hate groups in the United States, and suspected domestic "home-grown" and foreign terrorists are legally allowed to buy guns and explosives.

This Nation has spawned an unacceptable number of warmongers and human rights violators, so stay the hell out of Iran’s business and for that matter, Middle Eastern business. Take care of Americans who are losing their homes, their jobs, their health care (if they had any to begin with); and sir … Americans are losing their lives because of the conditions that exist within this country and because of greed, abuse of power and because of inequality that is directly attributed to those in power, big business and special interests that you defend so vigorously.

You sir, are a hypocrite and represent a dangerous faction within our government!
